The promise minus the command!
Humanity the world over is mostly interested in the Gospel only as long as it remains favourable to them. We are in a dispensation where many are in pursuit of the blessing and not the Blesser, the promise without fulfilling the command in it, grace without salvation attached to it, answered prayers without a relationship with the One answering them!
The more we degrade the Gospel to a need-based 'apparel' we only fish out when we want to look good during 'special occassions' or feel good during our 'highs and lows', the more the power behind it eludes us! It is not the Gospel that should conform to our reasoning! It is us who should live by its truth! It is not God who is limited, rather us, in our understanding and knowledge. God intends that we follow Him and His word fully and without shortcuts!
