The remarkable thing about these Scriptures is the reasons behind the love these parents felt for their favourite children; love for game and proximity to the homestead!
Sometimes we choose our preferred dimensions on the basis of likes, needs, proximity, etc.
Your preferences today may be hinged upon what is perishable and inconsistent with God, and that may be weighing you down (At the birth of his children Isaac knows who will be ruler yet he still intended to bless Esau by virtue of His love for game meat).
There is no carnality in God. Persistently choose what is consistent in and with Him. His WILL!
