Because God's Purpose Over Me Is Perfect Part 2
...continued from "Because God's Purpose Over Me Is Perfect!" Part 1.
Last time we looked at the introduction to this series. Here we will continue in this series by looking at the first part of the sub topic: The Blemish In My Perfection
We are often seeking for a perfected state of things, circumstances, ourselves, people, etc and it often bugs us when we seem to not be getting our labour's worth, moreso when our seemingly hard work is not amounting to an expected higher result.
There is nothing more frustrating than having a flaw that seems to cancel out all the great things we are destined for!
Today we will look at a story a lot of people are very familiar with! The Moses story.
Towards the end of the era of Moses, this is what the Bible says
Deuteronomy 34:10-12:
10 Since then, no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face,
11 who did all those miraculous signs and wonders the LORD sent him to do in Egypt--to Pharaoh and to all his officials and to his whole land.
12 For no one has ever shown the mighty power or performed the awesome deeds that Moses did in the sight of all Israel.
There is no single doubt as to how amazing and great Moses was, and his story is well articulated across several books of the Bible, and he is a reference point to many scriptures across both the old and new testament!
The saddest thing about most great men, is that they also have great flaws!
And so Moses, like every other great man, had his own share of flaws. And it is the flaws that are a hinderance to destiny! The flaws become the blemish! The blemish in our perfection!
Moses had an amazing walk with God; by many standards he had it all! Yet he had a temper! And it is this blemish that would make him fall short!
Every time his temper was activated, he became his very blemish! His temper became His Kryptonite!
Are our lives not this way most times? Isn't our perfection diminished by our few "little" flaws?
Child of God I may not know what you have to deal with each waking day, but I know there is something that shakes you and rattles you to the core, which once activated leaves you feeling helpless and weary!
What is that flaw which you try your best to overcome but you feel as if the battle is already lost?
We first encounter the anger of Moses in Egypt! This guys sees a fellow countryman suffer under the hands of an Egyptian and he becomes enraged to the point of murder!
Throughout the journey to Canaan, the anger of Moses becomes his chief blemish. He strikes a rock he is meant to speak to, he breaks the tablets on which the commandments are written on, and lots more.
Of course with the rate of bickering and complaining that the Israelites had developed, anger seemed to be his automatic response! But in truth, every flaw, short coming and blemish has a consequence!
The fact that your response to things seems justified does not make that response right!
I know someone reading this has reached breaking point a few times! You have cried and prayed and tried and failed, again and again! And you have learnt to put a smile on your face and to resonate some laughter, but still you know deep down, there is a blemish in your perfection!
You have made the "perfect" life, but you are still in trouble from what you have had to go through, who you have encountered and who you feel you are!
Child of God when you allow your blemish to take charge of the direction of your life, you will keep being frustrated!
But I am here to decree that it is time to let light shine upon that blemish. The Light that is God Himself! Because when light shows up, darkness has to flee! And that blemish is a darkness, and it has to come into submission to light!
So, what then is that blemish in your perfection?
Well, think about it even as we continue next time. God bless you!
