FULL CIRCLE Part 5
...continued
from Full Circle part 4. This is Full Circle: the pre-finale, and we're
still dealing with INTEGRITY as the state of wholeness.
Last time, we took the Naaman story deeper. In this segment we go even deeper!
We had established last time that there was a deep-rooted pride within Naaman's identity, and this formed the basis of his expectations and modus operandi. But then Elisha does not fit into Naaman's box of expectations!
Let us begin by looking at how this man Naaman reacted.
2nd Kings 5:
11 But Naaman went away angry and said, "I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me of my leprosy.
12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than any of the waters of Israel? Couldn't I wash in them and be cleansed?" So he turned and went off in a rage.
Interesting...huh?
How many times do we come before God and when He does not work in accordance to our rules, we get frustrated and we lose sight of what is important and relevant!
How often do you go before God with a desire and then you get distracted by the other things He appears not to have done!
You worry about everything else but what is needful!
In Luke 10:41-42 Jesus addresses Martha's concern:
"Martha, Martha! You are worried and upset about many things.
One thing is needed and Mary has found the better thing, and it will not be taken from her!"
Like Naaman, we too are worried about many things, yet only one thing is needed! We ought to trust in God doing it for us regardless of how well we have made ourselves up before Him!
Because if we keep worrying about what is trivial, then we will lose out on hearing God's instruction!
You ought to get off your high horse and begin to allow God to give you a heart of flesh in place of the heart of stone that your pride has built up!
And so sick Naaman's expectations are dashed, and this wounds his pride and ego! Because he was not just seeking after a miracle, but he also wanted it to happen as he had visualized it in his mind! He was so used to having a say in things and having things figured out that his rigid mind thought his input was needed in this too!
Isn't it interesting how often our rigid minds are our very undoing? Do you know why God's mode of operation and His instructions do not make sense to you?
It is because of your RIGID mind!
The Bible in Romans 12:2 says Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Being whole, is God's will over your life! But you are not entering into His will with a rigid mind! It has to be renewed! Because being whole is about being transformed from a state of incompleteness, into a state of totality!
The only way your mind is getting you into that dimension of transformation, is if it is renewed!
Halleluyah!
Child of God more often than not, God's instruction to sort out your issue will not come in your expected fashion; it may not even come in your expected vessel! But you know what, as long as it's God's instruction, it carries forth the necessary power needed to redeem you and make you whole!
It is not your business to worry about river Adana and river Pharpar! Those were not God's intent! Worry about your shower in the Jordan!
Halleluyah!
Because I assure you that Adana and Pharpar may be bigger and better rivers, but they will never make you whole! It is that despised river Jordan that has the necessary ingredient God intends to use to make you whole!
Halleluyah!
So, come on Naaman! Get your mind off Damascus! You are in Israel now! And this is the territory which exalts the Most High God! Your pagan gods could not do it for you! Your many riches could not do it for you! Your might and valour were not the necessary ingredient to wholeness! God was!
And so forget about Damascus! Because that is a former thing! Forget about Adana and Pharpar! Because those are former things!
Welcome to Israel! This is the new thing! Behold the Jordan! This is the new thing!
And when the former things leave your mind O Naaman! Transformation will occur!
O you didn't hear me: When the former things leave your mind, transformation will occur!
Halleluyah!
Because what you need for wholeness is just one thing! The renewed mindset! Because renewal will be the genesis of transformation! And transformation will get you whole!
Halleluyah!
Child of God we're storming into full circle! But I assure you, you have to let go of that pride, arrogance and rigid mindset!
God bless you!
