Of Wines And Wineskins PART TWO

...continued from "Of Wines and Wineskins" PART ONE

I do not know what new wine you are trying to pour into an old wineskin, but hear me: If the capacity to receive does not change, then your pouring into an old wineskin!
You may have amazing ideas
You may have a great vision
You may have a great plan
But if you do not have the capacity to handle growth, then your great idea, vision or plan is hindered!
There is a beauty in this though: God's nature is limitless!
When we begin to sink deeper into God, our capacity begins to increase
We begin to access the endless possibilities of a life in Him!
Now, one of the most common places to find people using old wineskins for new wine, is sadly the praise and worship ministry
Many are the times we focus on our musical ability, the sound of our voices, the latest trends in music, how well we look on the pulpit, etc
Then we forget the most important part: we are supposed to worship and praise God
Then we begin to wonder why God is not showing up in our services or our ministration; or why they are "dry"
Now, note this: wonderful music, beautiful voices, latest trends and looking good are not a bad thing!
It only becomes a problem when it becomes our chief priority!
Because then, we neglect what is really important: God ministering through us in our praising and worshipping!
Hear this: It is not our looking good that moves God! It is the state of our hearts!
It is not having a lovely voice that moves God! It is the state of our hearts!
It is not knowing the latest songs that moves God! It is the state of our hearts!
It is not knowing music progressions, keys and song development that moves God! It is the state of our hearts!
Focusing on the material and the physical things and neglecting the Spiritual is putting new wine in old wineskins!
Once we begin to focus on the Spirit of God, we begin to understand that it is not about us, it is about God!
We begin to stop worrying about what songs we will sing, how many songs we will sing, how and whether the congregation is responding as you think it should, whether the backup is okay, etc
We become fully sunken and soaked in God!
We forget ourselves and open our faculties to God's use!
What then happens?
We begin to let go of our perceptions and begin to receive from God as we give!
1st Corinthians 2:14 The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
So, we enter into the workmanship of the Spirit and begin to break limitations, protocol and programme as the Lord leads!
We enter the rest called understanding!
We now begin to understand why a service has to be prayers only yet it is time for praise and worship
We now begin to understand why a service has to be worship only or praise only even though the time is allocated for praise and worship
We now begin to break the norm of which one has to start between praise or worship!
Halleluyah!
Entering understanding means you have gotten rid of the old wineskin!
The old wineskin of physicality!
And realize this: when one dispensation/order/law/reign ceases, it becomes replaced by another!
Hence, when physicality ceases, it is replaced by Spirituality!
The new wineskin of Spirituality!
Get this: the wine will have to be poured!
But the only way it will go through the process without the risk of breaking the wineskin, is if it is poured into a new wineskin!
The Spirit of God refreshes our oldness and gives us newness!
Halleluyah!
