Worship, Love And Grace PART ONE

I was asked somewhere to share on worship, love and grace the next few days/weeks. This is how it went down this morning:

As I was reflecting on how to go about this, I realised just how much magnitude worship, love and grace have
These are by themselves broad subjects, and I will try my best to cover as much of each as possible
For our study into the word to be objective, we will first look at each individually, then we can finally see their relationship to each other.
We will start with WORSHIP. May the Lord bless us as we hear from Him. Feel free to contribute and/or ask questions, clarifications, etc
Study Objectives for this section:
By the end of our discussion in worship, it is my hope that we will all be able to:-
√Have a better understanding of worship is and is about
√Understand God's purpose for worship
√Get back to the heart of worship
I will start by saying this:
There are lots of opinions on what worship is and these opinions lead to how we approach worship
This is to say that, how casually or seriously you approach worship depends on what opinion you have of worship
In essence, if worship to you is a certain tempo/speed of a song, then how you approach worship is directed by music!
Alternatively, if worship to you is a certain feeling, then how you approach worship is directed by emotion!
Yet, I still believe there is more to worship than music and emotion; there has to be more!
Otherwise when the music fades and/or the emotions can no longer be expressed, then the worship ceases!
Hence, I daresay that most times, our worship is influenced by how susceptible we are to music and emotion!
But today I came to teach us a different approach to worship
Hear this: Worship is simply intimacy!
It is an expression of love to God
In fact, it is absolutely unimaginable worshipping what you do not love!
So, our approach to worship should be about Love; the Love we feel towards God!
Because once we are set on intimacy, music and emotions will not be our dimensions of worship, rather Love!
In fact, our worship should be characterized by the greatest commandment we have!
Mark 12:30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'
Here is the revelation: When we express our love to God as we worship, we create the atmosphere for God to physically express His Love towards us!
It is worship birthed in loving God that avails peace, joy, healing, deliverance, power, and all other expressions of God's love
And so as we love Him, we build an intimacy with Him, which is the same as saying:
As we worship (love) Him, we become one with Him!
Today I conclude there..."worship is about intimacy"

See you next time. The Lord be with you
