Last time we looked at "The Paradigm Shift"
Today, as indicated, we will look at "Storming In"
Our journey today takes us to the book of Joshua chapter 6. This is a story we've all heard or read about, but today I would like us to delve into some new revelations
Joshua chapter 6 outlines the capturing of the city of Jericho by the armies of Israel, as led by Joshua...
I am certain that this particular passage has been preached to as many times, yet today I want us to focus on just two verses, which actually say the same thing!
Joshua 6:5 When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have all the people give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the people will go up, every man straight in."
Joshua 6:20 When the trumpets sounded, the people shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the people gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so every man charged straight in, and they took the city.
Now, let us look at these two verses a little bit more
The expectation for an instruction to bring down a wall (even a simple one) is often to use force!
For those of us who have read a little more about Jericho, we know it was a fortified city
Now, when a city is fortified, it is important to note that there is no storming in happening there!
And that is the interesting thing am compelled to share about this morning!
Now, hear this: the Lord had already given the city to Joshua before the Israelites began marching around it!
In short, the physical storming in was a manifestation of what was happening in the Spiritual!
Halleluyah!
Before the instructions came in verse 3 of Joshua 6, the Lord had given the city, its king and fighting men in verse 2!
This is the reality: Many times the instruction given by the Lord after the assurance of victory does not male sense!
Now hear this: Many of us have heard the Lord's assurance of victory!
The problem we have is with His instruction!
It simply doesn't make sense!
Child of God if you are going to be all about logic when it comes to matters Spiritual, your storming in will be hindered by the same logic!
In Judges 7:2-3, the Lord deals with Gideon in a similarly strange fashion and gives the reason to it as this: "lest Israel thinks that it is her mighty armies that delivered her"
A lot of us keep depending on the mighty armies of family, resources, intellect, etc to deliver us, and we keep forgetting that our deliverer is the Lord!
Here is the revelation in all this: The process for man is conquest then deliverance, but the process for God is deliverance then conquest!
Halleluyah!
This simply means that when man thinks that it is the fight that brought the victory, the Lord is saying that it is the victory that brought the fight!
You dint hear me...
Lemme say that again!
This simply means that when man thinks that it is the fight that brought the victory, the Lord is saying that it is the victory that brought the fight!
This is to say...you won and so you're fighting! That doesn't make sense unless you understand that the battle belongs to the Lord
Note this: The Lord does not know how to lose a battle!
And so "you won and so you're fighting" simply means that "you won and so you're winning!"
Halleluyah!
And so this morning I didn't come hear for people who are cute about their salvation! I didn't come for people who are hell bent on doing things the way they think!
I came for someone who understands where to take the fight!
I came here for someone who knows that even when the enemy comes like a flood...
O come on...someone complete that for me!
When the enemy comes like a flood, the Spirit of God raises a standard!
Now, hear this: The trumpets have been blown, the shouts have been made, the walls have come crushing in! Now, just one thing is remaining! TO STORM IN!
Listen to me: The city will not be taken unless there is storming in!
Lemme give one more revelation and then we wrap it up!
These people were marching around a city!
It is not the gates that came down, it is the walls! But hear this: the gates are supported by the walls!
When the walls come down, the gates come down too!
What is even more interesting is this: they are not told "storm in through the gates", No! The instruction is simply "STORM IN!"
This is to say this: where you are when the walls come down, enter through there!
Halleluyah!
So, quit looking for a gate or an entry point!
The walls are down! Everywhere is an entry point!
Go on...STORM IN!
The Lord gave you the city, its king and its fighting men! But you have to storm in! Because when you storm in, you are translating the Spiritual to the natural!
May the Lord bless you!
I release grace over your life right now...the grace to possess your inheritance in God...the grace to take a leap of faith! I release it now in the name of Jesus!
