Topic: The Command In The Promise!
INTRODUCTION
Many people love promises! And especially if the promises have a good thing coming when they become manifest
And the truth is that many times, we tend to hear only the words of the promise
A lot of us (especially those reading scripture), quickly skip the parts that decree warnings and declare wrath and they in similar haste run to the places in the Bible that speak lovely and beautiful things!
And so in our quest for the 'feel-good' gospel, many times we forget that before the promise is fulfilled, there are set parameters/conditions which have to be fulfilled!
And so today I am here to remind us there is a command in the promise!
Halleluyah!
Hear this: you may read all the scriptures that speak the promise, but if you are not going to seek out the command and do it, then you just might be setting yourself up for frustration!
It is time we came to our senses!
I am not here for the 'feel-good' gospel, I am here to set things right!
Because when God's order and standard is set in place, the promise will be fulfilled!
I assure you the 'feel-good' moment will only come when the command in the promise is followed!
And so I am here today to bring forth this understanding: Unless logos (the written word) is translated into rhema (the performed word), then the promise will not yield a fulfilling!
SCRIPTURE BREAKDOWN
Joshua 1:
7 Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.
8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
There is something significant about these three verses, but before we break them down, let's get into a little background!
Chapter one of Joshua introduces us into a time of transition in Israel; a new era!
Moses is gone and in comes Joshua! It is a time when a new dispensation is now in place!
The time for sitting and going round in circles on one side of the Jordan is finally over! And it is now time to enter into the land of the promise!
It is time for the preparation to be translated into action! And this is not the time to look back! You cannot begin to reconsider the Egypt option! You have been in the wilderness for forty years!
Halleluyah!
Child of God many times we are at that point when we are now to enter the land of the promise!
And when that time finally comes, you had better had matured up during the preparation in the wilderness!
Because whether you are ready or not, you will have to begin to move! To shift! To transist into what God wants and what He is saying!
I sense somebody has been going through preparation; somebody who has reached the point of no return! And today there is a release of power that will usher you into your promised land!
I sense a breaking free from bondage! Amd tradition!; An entry into freedom! I sense God's promises just about to be released on somebody!
BUT WAIT A MINUTE!
There is something else! Something that meeds to be done!
There is a COMMAND in the promise!
Now, this is the part a lot of people neglect! It is where a lot of people miss out!
Child of God I know you may love the hype in the fact that something new is going to happen; and that you are going to be ushered into the promise!
But before the fulfillment of the promise comes just one little thing; the Command!
Halleluyah!
When God releases a promise, He instructs on how to bring it to fruition!
But a lot of people get hang on the promise and neglect the command in it!
Hear this: before you can be successful wherever you go, you will have to be strong, courageous and obey all the law without turning away from it (Joshua 1:7)
Before you are prosperous and successful, you will have to let the book of law abide in your lips, meditate on it, and do what is written in it (Joshua 1:8)
Before God is with you wherever you go, you will have to activate strength and courage, even as you forego terror and discouragement! (Joshua 1:9)
Why? Because there is a command in the promise!
Halleluyah!
ALLOW ME TO SPEAK TO THE JOSHUA IN YOU!
Now, I do not know how ready or willing you are O Joshua! But I know one thing: the time for waiting is no longer with you! And so you have to gather your things, because we are moving in! And we are not looking back!
But before we go Joshua; before we get into full gear, let us go down memory lane!
There are things that were spoken to you! There are things my servant Moses released over you (Deuteronomy 34:9), but just so we are on the same page, let me remind you!
CONCLUSION
And so today I am speaking to someone whose mind is vividly remembering the promise! And I am saying it is time!
But before we get into the promise, we have to reassess the command!
Now hear me O Joshua: What the Lord says He will do, there is no doubt that He will do! But here's how this will play out:
For every promise, God has given an instruction! And when this instruction is fulfilled, God will do according to His word!
Because He is not a man that He should lie!
And so arise today child of God! Begin to carry out His command! And what He promised will manifest!
God bless you!
