The Need For Kingdom Fathers

Well, I was at an event by the Joshua Generation Trust. And the topic was "The Need For Kingdom Fathers"
For the sake of you who didn't make it, here's what I learnt:
NB: The words father/fatherhood, man/men etc are applicable to you whether you are male or female!
To understand fatherhood, we must begin to look at it from the beginning!
Thus it is important to understand that fatherhood starts from God;
This is because God is the creator of everything, and everything that exists was made by God
John 1:3, Numbers 16:23; Deuteronomy 32:6
Anyone that brings something into being is called the father of that particular thing
Hebrews 12:9
Because God brought everything forth, He is the father of everything!
The functions of a father:
√To bring forth (create)
√To nurture into maturity (mentor, coach)
√To provide (sustain, cultivate)
√To protect (guard)
√To govern (guide, chief)
God delegates fatherhood to men
Exodus 20:18-19; If God is to come physically to play every role of fatherhood, the earth would not be able to contain it!
Psalms 127:3
Hebrew 13:17
Four areas of fatherhood that God delegates:
√Biological fathers (Proverbs 23:22)
√Spiritual fathers (1st Timothy 1:2)
√Society/Governmental fathers
√Professional fathers (Genesis 4:20)
We need to have fathers!
Fatherhood is not about yourself! It is about a delegated responsibility from God!
Malachi 4:5-6
Luke 1:16-17
To make a people prepared for God, we need fathers!
We have to get fatherhood right in the church; when that happens, fatherhood will be restored in the other spheres!
