I Reject The King's Portion! Part 3

Grace to you and peace from our Father dear brethren. Last time, we looked at the importance of connectivity with the source. We wanted to establish this in our ongoing series whose end goal is to bring a realization of how the body of Christ can stay afloat in a sinking world. Today we will look at the entry of corruption into the world. Genesis 1:31a 'Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. (NKJV)'. At the end of creation, after all was brought forth from God, He assessed His work and it was very good. This in essence means that at the beginning of creation before the fall of man in Genesis chapter 3, the entire creation was functioning in ideal conditions. There was a harmony between all of creation, and a linkage between creation and Creator. There was such a glory in creation at Eden that God had constant fellowship with man. When we live in righteousness, we get into constant fellowship with God. There develops in us a deep hunger for Him that makes us pursue Him ceaselessly.
When Adam and Eve sinned against God, corruption gets a way into creation, changing the trajectory of what was ideal into a new reality - a reality where man had to make a choice to have a relationship with God. Corruption immediately severed the bond of constant fellowship between man and God, and created a barrier separating man from the glory of God. This in essence meant that we were stripped off our intended inheritance and banished into darkness. When these scales were tilted, man began to focus on the will of flesh rather than the will of the Spirit. The sad reality of man became lifelessness. Deuteronomy 32:5 says this: 'They have corrupted themselves; they are not His children, because of their blemish; a perverse and crooked generation.
The beauty of things is what 1st Corinthians 13:10 depicts: 'But when that which is perfect has come, that which is in part will be done away (NKJV)'. As we continue with this series, this remains our hope and joy. That as we interact with perfection (Christ), the imperfection (works of flesh; worldly nature) will be shed off. Only then can we live in absolute freedom. There is therefore hope that is made alive when we come into the knowledge of this truth. And that very hope is our inheritance and lifestyle. For hope strengthens faith, without which it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6a). We need to understand that when God created man, He had great plans for us. He still does, yet man has to make the step of approaching God in relationship. Man has to want God so as to enjoy fellowship with Him again and until man realizes this and acts on it, the unfortunate reality of John 1:5 becomes their predicament.
PRAYER: Lord Jesus I come before You today. Knowing that You are perfect in all of Your ways. Today I present my imperfections to You; everything that has corrupted my life. Free me from lusting after what is worldly. Instill in me a focus towards the things of the Spirit. Amen.
