LEGITIMACY BY ANCESTRY PART 22: RUTH & BOAZ CONTINUED
Ruth 4:11 Then the elders and all those at the gate said, "We are witnesses. May the LORD make the woman who is coming into your home like Rachel and Leah, who together built up the house of Israel. May you have standing in Ephrathah and be famous in Bethlehem.
12 Through the offspring the LORD gives you by this young woman, may your family be like that of Perez, whom Tamar bore to Judah."
12 Through the offspring the LORD gives you by this young woman, may your family be like that of Perez, whom Tamar bore to Judah."
Hallelujah?
The union of Ruth and Boaz is sealed by this declaration (validating statement) and in thus it is given root in the lineage of Judah.
And so Ruth, a foreigner, is assimilated by adoption to God's lineage.
We are all born in a lineage corrupted by sin yet God has provided a plan for adoption through salvation.
Thus we have to constantly keep denouncing our illegitimate lineages through repentance and keep validating our salvation by faith!
